A few months ago we have already informed you that Slovenia is hosting the international project
“Competent To Do – The transfer of competences for tutors to achieve business (vocational) and social competences of female prisoners and ex-offenders”,
with the participation of four countries which are, besides Slovenia and Croatia, also Lithuania and Germany.

There are six partners: CDI Univerzum, Zavod MiT, Center Spirala from Slovenia, Frauen Computer Zentrum Berlin (FCZB) from Germany, University College Nikola Subic Zrinski (UCEEM-NSZ) from Croatia and ZISPB from Lithuania. Also, three silent partners are involved in this project (ZPKZ IG and ZRSZZ from Slovenia, Panevežio suaugusiuju mokykla from Lithuania).

After the 1st, kick-off meeting with the project partners, which was held in Ljubljana in November 2013, project partners had 2nd project meeting in April 2014 in Berlin. The tutors training for working with women prisoners was being carried out at the same time in Berlin, according to the application – content of the project. The tutors (7 from Slovenia, 5 from Lithuania and 2 from Croatia) had a training of 3 days both on the theoretical as well as the practical knowledge by working in groups. FCZB, partner from Germany, presented to the tutors the examples of good practice, carried out in women prisons in Berlin. They also had the chance to take a look at the life and work with prisoners in one of the women prisons. There was also a particularly practical presentation of the training and education of women prisoners through different workshops and tasks for an easier integration in everyday life after the served sentence.

Project will be continued with the set of an open curriculum from the project partner University College Nikola Subic Zrinski (UCEEM-NSZ) and the selection of women prisoners for the training – acquisition of business and social competences in the pilot implementation in Slovenia and Lithuania. This was also discuss in the 3rd project meeting in Zagreb, 4th and 5th September 2014.
